Uber Elevates Pradeep Parameswaran to Global Head of Mobility

Share

Uber has appointed Pradeep Parameswaran as its new Global Head of Mobility, marking a significant leadership transition at the San Francisco-based ride-hailing giant. In his expanded role, Parameswaran will oversee Uber’s largest business segment, managing mobility activities across key global regions, including Asia Pacific, EMEA, and North America.

He will report directly to Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi and will be part of the company’s executive leadership team. Parameswaran succeeds Andrew Macdonald, a long-time Uber executive, who has now been promoted to Chief Operating Officer—a role reinstated after six years. Macdonald’s elevation is expected to accelerate Uber’s push into automation and next-generation transportation technologies.

In his new capacity, Parameswaran will also be responsible for high-capacity vehicle programs, micro-mobility solutions, shuttle services, and the consumer vehicle segment—critical focus areas as urban environments shift toward shared and sustainable transportation models.

An alumnus of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business (MBA) and a mechanical engineering graduate from IIT Madras, Parameswaran brings a diverse leadership background. Prior to Uber, he served as CEO of DEN Networks, was a partner at McKinsey & Company, and began his career at Hindustan Unilever. He currently serves as an independent director on the board of FSN E-Commerce Ventures, the parent company of Nykaa.

Throughout his tenure at Uber, Parameswaran has played a key role in strategic expansion initiatives, including the acquisitions of Australia’s CarNextDoor and Hong Kong’s HKTaxi. He has also led Uber’s electric mobility push in India, forging partnerships such as one with Tata Motors for electric vehicle deployment and supporting a $20 million investment in Everest Fleet, a Mumbai-based electric and CNG fleet operator.

While Parameswaran takes on a broader global mandate, Prabhjeet Singh will continue to lead Uber’s India and South Asia operations, reporting to the Asia Pacific leadership. India remains a vital technology hub for Uber, employing over 1,500 people across its Bengaluru and Hyderabad offices.
