SCHOTT Poonawalla has appointed Roy Joseph as its Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, strengthening the company’s leadership as it continues to support the pharmaceutical industry with advanced packaging solutions.
Joseph joins SCHOTT Poonawalla from Amcor, where he most recently served as Managing Director – India and Vice President & General Manager for India & Indonesia. During his tenure, he led strategic business operations across both markets, drove business growth, managed the divestment of non-core businesses, and played a key role in integrating a strategic acquisition.
He brings more than three decades of leadership experience across the packaging, pharmaceutical, healthcare, specialty materials, and industrial sectors. Over the course of his career, Joseph has held senior leadership positions with organizations including Amcor, Essel Propack, Avery Dennison, Owens Corning, and Herdillia Chemical Limited, leading business transformation, operational excellence, regional expansion, and large-scale manufacturing operations across multiple international markets.
At Amcor, he was responsible for leading businesses across India and Indonesia with full profit and loss accountability while overseeing multiple manufacturing facilities and driving customer-focused growth across the food, personal care, healthcare, and specialty packaging segments. Prior to that, he served as President – Africa, Middle East & South Asia at Essel Propack, where he managed a regional business portfolio spanning six manufacturing sites and more than 1,100 employees.
Joseph holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pune and a postgraduate degree in management from the University of Mumbai. He has also completed the Advanced Management Programme (AMP) at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.
His appointment marks a new leadership chapter for SCHOTT Poonawalla as the company continues to focus on innovation, customer partnerships, and supporting the evolving needs of the global pharmaceutical packaging industry.
