TVS Motor Company has announced the appointment of Peyman Kargar as Director and Chief Executive Officer (D & CEO), effective January 27, 2027. He will assume the role in the rank of Whole-Time Director and Key Managerial Personnel for a five-year term following approval by the company’s Board of Directors.
Kargar will succeed K. N. Radhakrishnan, who will continue serving as Director & Chief Executive Officer until January 27, 2027, ensuring a seamless leadership transition. Following the transition, Radhakrishnan will continue on the Board as a Non-Executive Director until the company’s ensuing Annual General Meeting scheduled for July 2027.
The appointment marks an important leadership transition for TVS Motor Company as it continues to strengthen its presence in India while expanding its global footprint. The company reported a record FY2025–26 performance, selling 5.9 million vehicles globally and delivering 30% revenue growth.
Peyman Kargar to lead TVS Motor’s next phase of growth
Peyman Kargar currently serves as President – International Business at TVS Motor Company. With more than three decades of experience in the global automotive industry, he has held leadership positions across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East, with expertise spanning engineering, manufacturing, project management, quality, sales and marketing, and business development.
During his tenure with TVS Motor, Kargar has played a significant role in strengthening the company’s international business. The international business today contributes 29% of TVS Motor Company’s sales volume and is growing at 33%, making it an increasingly important contributor to the company’s global expansion strategy.
In his new role as Director & CEO, Kargar will lead TVS Motor Company’s next phase of growth with a focus on product innovation, premiumisation and expansion into developed markets, while strengthening the company’s technology and global mobility ambitions.
Extensive global automotive leadership experience
Before joining TVS Motor Company, Kargar held several prominent international leadership roles with Nissan and Renault.
He previously served as Global Chairman & President of INFINITI, Nissan’s luxury automotive brand, where he led the complete global value chain across product planning, research and development, manufacturing, quality, sales and marketing, and finance. During his leadership, INFINITI achieved a 20% increase in volume and was placed on a trajectory towards USD 1 billion in annual profit.
Kargar also served as Chairman and Senior Vice President for Nissan’s Africa, Middle East and India region, alongside his role as CEO of the Datsun brand, overseeing operations across more than 80 countries.
Earlier, he was Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Renault Group, where he managed operations across 50 countries spanning Africa, the Middle East, Iran and India, with responsibility for a €4 billion turnover and annual sales of approximately 400,000 vehicles. His previous assignments also included Managing Director of Renault Middle East and Country Manager Director in Iran.
He holds a Master of Business Administration from London Business School and is a Mechanical Engineer from INSA de Lyon.
