Shilpa Kedia has joined Fractal as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), bringing nearly two decades of financial leadership experience across global companies, including Johnson & Johnson, Hindustan Unilever and Nokia India.

Kedia joins Fractal from Johnson & Johnson (J&J), where she served as Chief Financial Officer for its India Medical Devices & Technology (MedTech) business. Before that, she spent four years at Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), holding leadership positions including Head of Investor Relations, Group Finance Controller, and Head of M&A, Treasury & Insurance.

Earlier in her career, Kedia spent nearly a decade with J&J across its Consumer and MedTech businesses and five years with Nokia India, building a strong foundation in financial controllership. She began her career through the Tata Administrative Services (TAS) leadership programme at the Tata Group.

At Fractal, Kedia will lead the global finance organisation, supporting the company’s growth and capital allocation strategy. Her responsibilities will include directing investments towards research, platforms and products, strengthening the commercial model for its AI offerings, and helping investors understand how the company’s financial strategy supports earnings growth.

Commenting on the appointment, Srikanth Velamakanni, Co-founder and Group CEO of Fractal, said:

“Our AI strategy starts with the decisions that matter to a client’s business and builds the intelligence to improve them. Shilpa brings the perspective of someone who has made investment decisions and been accountable for the returns. She will help us strengthen the commercial model behind our strategy: where we invest in platforms and our products, how we price for the value we create, and how we turn that value into sustained earnings growth for Fractal. That combination of client understanding and financial discipline will be valuable as we build the next phase of Fractal,”

Kedia commented on her appointment:

“Fractal combines deep AI research with a sharp understanding of the decisions its clients need to get right, and it builds its own models and products to improve them. Having spent two decades on the client side, I know what it takes for a business to commit to AI and hold it accountable for returns. My priority is to bring that same discipline to Fractal: investing behind our platforms and products, and giving investors a clear line of sight from that investment to durable, profitable growth,”

Kedia is a Chartered Accountant with an all-India rank and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Narsee Monjee College.
