Deutsche Bank Appoints Rajarshi Chakraborty as Group Chief Operating Officer for India

Deutsche Bank has announced the appointment of Rajarshi Chakraborty as its new Group Chief Operating Officer for India.

Rajarshi’s appointment comes at a time when India is gaining increased prominence within the global financial ecosystem. With its dynamic market environment and innovation-driven growth potential, India remains central to Deutsche Bank’s long-term transformation and growth agenda.

Bringing over 23 years of leadership experience, Rajarshi joins the India leadership team with deep operational expertise and a strong track record in governance and strategic execution across South Asia. His career spans a wide range of functions, including corporate banking, inclusive finance, and SME growth, making him a valuable asset to the bank’s leadership bench.

Before joining Deutsche Bank, Rajarshi spent over two decades at Citi, where he held several senior leadership roles across corporate and transaction banking. Most recently, he served as the Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer for Citi South Asia and was a key member of the South Asia cluster management team. His earlier roles included Head of Inclusive Finance, Chief of Staff to the Citi India CEO, and sales head for Treasury & Trade Services in South India.

Rajarshi began his career in Citi’s transaction banking business and later took on leadership roles across various sectors, including Pharma, Auto, Consumer, and Engineering. He is also a certified Business Credit Officer with deep industry expertise.

Academically, he holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Finance and Marketing from IIM Kozhikode and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from VJTI, Mumbai.

His appointment signals Deutsche Bank’s continued commitment to strengthening its leadership in India and accelerating its transformation agenda in the region.
