Spandana Sphoorty Financial Limited has announced the appointment of K. Venkatesh as its new Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer. This leadership transition comes at a pivotal time for the Company, which has been demonstrating strong business momentum and consistent operational improvements. Over the past six months, Spandana has reported steady month-on-month progress across key performance indicators, reflecting clear signs of recovery and growth.
Venkatesh brings more than three decades of experience in the financial services industry. In his previous role, he successfully revitalised HDFC Bank’s extensive microfinance portfolio. His career includes senior leadership positions at HSBC, IFMR, LT Insurance, and HDFC Bank, where he has built deep expertise in retail lending, microfinance, and rural markets. His strong grounding in rural banking and proven ability to navigate diverse business cycles aligns closely with Spandana’s mission of driving financial inclusion. This positions him well to lead the Company into its next phase of growth and impact.
Spandana’s promoter and largest shareholder, Kedaara Capital, continues to reinforce its commitment to the Company’s long-term growth. Its partnership-driven approach was further demonstrated through a commitment of INR 200 crore towards Spandana’s recent rights issue.
With this appointment, Mr. Ashish Damani, who had been serving as Interim CEO, will conclude his interim responsibilities and continue in his role as President & Chief Financial Officer of the Company.
