Vanguard India Appoints Shalini Vashisht Sahi as Chief Operating Officer

Vanguard Group has appointed Shalini Vashisht Sahi as Chief Operating Officer for its India operations. She will be based in Hyderabad and will oversee operational strategy and transformation initiatives across the firm’s India platform.

Sahi brings over two decades of global leadership experience in operations, procurement, and enterprise transformation. She is recognized for building high-performing teams and leading large-scale operational and digital transformation initiatives across global organizations.

Prior to joining Vanguard India, she spent nearly sixteen years at Barclays, where she most recently served as Managing Director. During her tenure at Barclays, she held several senior leadership roles across procurement, sourcing, and operations, including Director – Global Procurement (Sourcing, Process Excellence & Data Insights) and Head of Contact Center Operations. In these roles, she led initiatives focused on digital transformation, automation, process optimization, and data-driven operational improvements.

Earlier in her career, she held procurement and sourcing leadership roles at Nokia Siemens Networks, Delphi Corporation, GE Healthcare, and Honda Cars India.

Sahi holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) in Electrical Engineering from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh. She has also completed a certification in “Leading in the Age of Digital Disruption” from the Indian School of Business.
