Luminous Power Technologies, one of India’s leading consumer energy fulfilment companies, has announced the appointment of Vivek Abrol as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective January 19, 2026.
In his new role, Abrol will lead Luminous’ next phase of growth, with a strong focus on profitability, innovation, and transformation. He will drive the company’s evolution into an integrated consumer energy fulfilment platform while accelerating the expansion of its solar and sustainable energy solutions. Strengthening Luminous’ leadership in the inverter and battery segments, advancing digital transformation, and building a future-ready, high-performance organisation will be among his key priorities.
Abrol succeeds Preeti Bajaj, who will transition to Luminous’ parent organisation, Schneider Electric, where she will take on the role of Executive Vice President (EVP), leading the company’s Global Home Solutions Division.
During her tenure, Bajaj played a critical role in shaping Luminous’ growth trajectory and solar journey. Under her leadership, the company strengthened its position as a Fast Moving Energy Goods (FMEG) brand, expanded its solar portfolio, enhanced customer-centric innovation, and improved operational excellence across the organisation.
Vivek Abrol brings over 25 years of leadership experience, including nearly a decade as CEO, with deep expertise across FMCG, stationery, and electricals. He began his career at ITC Ltd, where he spent 16 years in diverse leadership roles, contributing to the scaling of multiple FMCG businesses.
Subsequently, he held senior leadership positions at Pidilite Industries and RR Kabel, managing end-to-end businesses across categories. Most recently, as CEO of RR Kabel’s Consumer Electricals (FMEG) business, Abrol led a significant transformation journey, driving strong growth and operational scale. His experience also includes leading mergers and acquisitions and playing a pivotal role in the successful execution of RR Kabel’s IPO.
With his blend of strategic leadership, operational depth, and experience across consumer-facing industries, Abrol is expected to play a key role in strengthening Luminous’ market position and advancing its long-term growth ambitions.
