Suzlon Appoints Ashok Ramachandran as President, India Business

Suzlon Group has appointed Ashok Ramachandran as President, India Business and Senior Managerial Personnel, effective June 4, 2026. In this role, he will lead the company’s India business operations and report to Ajay Kapur, Chief Executive Officer of Suzlon Group.

Ramachandran joins Suzlon with more than two decades of leadership experience across the energy, industrial products, and vertical mobility sectors, with extensive exposure to markets in India, Southeast Asia, and Australia. His appointment comes as Suzlon strengthens its position as a wind-first, full-stack renewable energy company amid growing opportunities in India’s renewable energy sector.

Prior to joining Suzlon, Ramachandran served as Chief Operating Officer and board member at JSW Energy, where he played a key role in the company’s growth strategy and capacity expansion. During his tenure, the company accelerated its installed capacity from nearly 5 GW to 30 GW within approximately three years.

Before JSW Energy, he spent a significant part of his career with Schindler Group. As CEO and President of Schindler India & South Asia, he led one of the company’s largest and most strategic markets across manufacturing, operations, and research and development. Under his leadership, the business scaled its revenue from approximately ₹1,000 crore to ₹3,000 crore.

Commenting on the appointment, Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman, Suzlon Group, said, “India has now entered an accelerated growth pathway for wind energy, with a record 6.5 GW installations achieved last year, and the opportunity ahead is significantly large.
