Tenneco, a leading global automotive supplier, has appointed Arvind Chandra as the Chief Executive Officer of Tenneco India. In this role, Chandra will oversee the company’s Clean Air, Monroe Ride Solutions (MRS), Champion Ignition, and Powertrain (Bearings and Sealings) businesses across India. His appointment marks a significant step in Tenneco’s strategy to accelerate its growth and innovation in one of its most key markets.
Chandra brings with him over two decades of leadership experience in the automotive industry. His professional journey includes senior roles at Delphi, Wabco, Faurecia (now Forvia), and Minda Corporation. Most recently, he served as India CEO at Aliaxis Group. Throughout his career, Chandra has led diverse functions including manufacturing, marketing, sales, engineering, global business planning, and C-suite leadership across geographies.

In his new role, Chandra will work closely with Rishi Verma, President of Tenneco India, who will now report directly to him. Verma will continue to lead day-to-day operations while taking on expanded responsibilities that include oversight of the piston, rings, valve seats, and guides (VSG) business under Tenneco’s Powertrain Solutions division. The existing leadership structure reporting to Verma will remain unchanged.
Under Chandra’s leadership, Tenneco India is expected to focus on:
- Accelerating business growth and strengthening customer partnerships, both local and global
- Advancing innovation in lightweight and cost-effective solutions tailored to regional needs
- Establishing India as a global hub for manufacturing and cross-functional excellence
