Tata AIG Appoints Meghana Rao as Chief Human Resources Officer

Tata AIG General Insurance has announced the appointment of Meghana Rao as its new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). With nearly two decades of experience in human capital strategy and organizational development, Meghana steps into this role to drive the company’s people agenda, cultural transformation, and future readiness.

Before joining Tata AIG, Meghana served as the Human Resources Director at Flipkart, where she led Business HR, Diversity & Inclusion, Campus Engagement, and various Centers of Excellence for the company’s expansive supply chain organization.

Her career spans over 15 years with ICICI Bank, where she held several leadership roles including Zonal Head of Human Resources – South, Talent Acquisition Head – North, and Senior Manager – Employee Relations. In these roles, she was responsible for managing talent across diverse banking verticals and geographies, driving performance and engagement, and leading strategic workforce planning initiatives.

She began her HR career with Larsen & Toubro as HR Manager, where she managed core HR functions including hiring, onboarding, and training for the engineering division.

Meghana brings deep expertise in business partnering, change management, organization design, performance management, talent acquisition, diversity & inclusion, and employee engagement. She holds a PGDM in Human Resources from Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development, a Master’s in Labour Law, and a certification in Strategic HR Management from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.
