Paras Health Appoints Balkishan Sharma as Chief Human Resources & Business Transformation Officer

Paras Health has appointed Balkishan Sharma as its Chief Human Resources & Business Transformation Officer, marking a senior leadership development as the hospital network strengthens its people and operational capabilities.

He transitions after nearly seven years with Max Healthcare Institute Ltd., where he most recently served as Senior Vice President and Head – HR Operations.

At Max Healthcare, Sharma oversaw human resources across eight hospitals. According to details on his professional profile, he managed HR operations for facilities with a combined capacity of approximately 2,100 beds, a topline of around ₹3,000 crore per annum, and a workforce of roughly 10,000 employees. His responsibilities spanned business strategy, change management, talent development, compensation, employee relations, and organisational culture.

Sharma brings more than 18 years of experience in hospital HR leadership. Prior to Max Healthcare, he held senior HR roles at BLK Super Speciality Hospital and Fortis Healthcare, where he was involved in workforce planning and talent systems across multi-speciality healthcare environments.

He holds an MBA in Human Resources from Madurai Kamaraj University and has completed an executive leadership programme at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.

The appointment comes as healthcare providers continue to strengthen HR and transformation leadership to support expansion, operational efficiency, and talent competitiveness. Sharma’s combined mandate is expected to play a key role in Paras Health’s next phase of growth.
