Meta has announced the appointment of Arun Srinivas as the new Managing Director and Head for India, effective July 1, 2025. The move comes as Sandhya Devanathan, who previously led Meta India, expands her responsibilities to oversee both India and Southeast Asia.

In his new role, Srinivas will lead Meta’s overall business strategy in India, aligning innovation, growth, and revenue objectives to support the company’s long-term vision in the country. He will also be responsible for strengthening partnerships with key stakeholders including leading brands, advertisers, developers, and business partners across the Indian market.

Arun Srinivas joined Meta in 2020 and currently serves as Director and Head of the Ads Business in India, where he has been instrumental in driving strategic initiatives across AI, Reels, and Messaging. Under his leadership, Meta has deepened its relationships with some of India’s largest advertisers and agency networks.

A postgraduate from IIM Calcutta, Srinivas brings with him nearly 30 years of leadership experience across prominent organizations such as Hindustan Unilever, Reebok, OLA, and WestBridge Capital. His background in scaling businesses and building high-performing teams positions him well to lead Meta’s next phase of growth in the region.

Commenting on the appointment, Sandhya Devanathan, Vice President for India and South East Asia at Meta, said: “As India continues to be at the forefront of economic growth and innovation, we are excited to have Arun at the helm of our efforts in this critical market. Meta in India is leading the way in AI adoption, WhatsApp, and Reels, and Arun’s impressive track record of building high-performing teams, driving product innovation, and fostering strong partnerships makes him the ideal leader to drive Meta’s continued investment in the country. He will continue to work closely with me as we scale the business in India.”

Srinivas will continue to report to Devanathan in his new role.
