The Standard, a U.S.-based leader in insurance, retirement, and investment solutions, has officially launched StanCorp Global Services India Pvt. Ltd., its new Global Capability Centre (GCC). Branded as The Standard India, the centre represents a significant milestone in the company’s efforts to accelerate technology transformation and long-term innovation across its global operations.

The Standard India has been created to strengthen the organisation’s digital capabilities, support modernization initiatives, and build high-value roles across technology and operations. The GCC will focus on developing scalable solutions, enhancing customer experience, and contributing to enterprise-wide growth and efficiency.

To lead this expansion, the company has appointed Mohua Sengupta as Senior Vice President and Country Head for India. Operating across Bengaluru and Pune, Sengupta brings nearly three decades of experience in banking, financial services, and technology. Her career includes leadership roles at Novartis India GCC, 3i Infotech, ITC Infotech, IGATE, Mphasis, Accenture, Wipro, and the Royal Bank of Canada, reflecting her strong background in digital transformation and global operations.

Greg Chandler, Executive Vice President of Information Technology at The Standard, noted that Sengupta’s leadership is aligned with the company’s culture and its ambition to scale U.S. operations through technology and talent in India. Sengupta expressed enthusiasm about joining during a period of accelerated growth, highlighting the GCC’s role in unlocking specialized talent and delivering efficient global solutions.

In her new role, Sengupta will be responsible for compliance and financial governance, employee and operational management, development of technology and digital capabilities, and expansion of teams across Bengaluru and Pune. The centre launches with 175 former Allstate India employees, following The Standard’s acquisition of Allstate’s Employer Voluntary Benefits business earlier this year.
