Times Internet has appointed Rahul K. Rao as its Chief Information Officer (CIO), strengthening its technology leadership team with an executive who brings extensive experience in cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, IT strategy, and enterprise transformation.
In his new role, Rao will lead the enhancement of Times Internet’s technology ecosystem, drive innovation-led growth initiatives, and align technology investments with the company’s business objectives.
Rao joins Times Internet from Pine Labs, where he served as Director – Cloud, IT Infrastructure and DevOps. During his tenure, he led initiatives across multi-cloud environments, enterprise IT operations, DevOps automation, networking, infrastructure modernization, and global technology operations. He also played a key role in scaling the company’s technology capabilities to support business growth.
Prior to Pine Labs, Rao was Divisional Head – Cloud Technologies and IT Infrastructure at Apollo Tyres. He led cloud migration programs, infrastructure modernization efforts, and cybersecurity initiatives, while overseeing large-scale technology transformation projects aimed at improving operational efficiency and system performance.
Earlier, he spent more than four years with Bharti Airtel in leadership roles across cloud operations and engineering. During this period, he was responsible for designing scalable network architectures, managing cloud platforms, and driving data center transformation programs across multiple geographies.
Rao also spent over six years at Accenture, where he led infrastructure consulting, network transformation, and technology modernization projects for large enterprises and global organizations.
With more than 15 years of experience spanning fintech, telecommunications, manufacturing, and consulting, Rao has built expertise in cloud adoption, cybersecurity, DevOps, automation, and IT governance. At Times Internet, he is expected to play a key role in advancing the company’s digital transformation agenda and strengthening its technology foundation to support future growth and innovation.
