VZY, Dish TV’s connected digital entertainment platform, has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Uttam Tiwari as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Edwin Charles Albert as Senior Vice President – Product.

The appointments come as VZY accelerates its focus on AI-powered discovery, personalization and connected entertainment experiences. Both leaders will work closely with Varun Jha, Chief Business Officer, to shape VZY’s technology, product and consumer roadmap.

As entertainment consumption becomes increasingly fragmented across apps, subscriptions and devices, VZY is focused on addressing the challenge of content discovery. The platform is building an AI-led entertainment experience designed to simplify how consumers discover, access and engage with content across services and screens.

Uttam Tiwari joins VZY as Chief Technology Officer

As CTO, Uttam Tiwari will lead VZY’s engineering, platform architecture, AI infrastructure and technology strategy.

Tiwari joins VZY from BharatPe, where he served as Head of Engineering – Consumer Business and led large-scale engineering teams and technology initiatives across multiple consumer-facing businesses.

Prior to BharatPe, he held leadership positions at CARS24, Airtel Payments Bank, Microsoft, Tesco, GE Healthcare and IBM. His experience spans cloud platforms, distributed systems, platform modernization, AI strategy and consumer technology at scale.

Tiwari holds an M.Tech in Computational Linguistics from IIIT Hyderabad.

Edwin Charles Albert appointed SVP – Product

As Senior Vice President – Product, Edwin Charles Albert will lead VZY’s product strategy, content experience and consumer engagement charter.

Albert brings experience across content, streaming, product and consumer growth. Most recently, he led Content, Product, Marketing and Partnerships at Airtel Digital, where he played a key role across Airtel Xstream, Wynk Music, DTH and IPTV initiatives.

Before Airtel Digital, Albert held leadership positions at Tik Tok (ByteDance) and Times Internet, working across content, product innovation and user engagement.

Over the course of his career, he has built and scaled consumer experiences serving more than 130 million monthly active users across entertainment platforms.

Commenting on the appointments, Manoj Dobhal, CEO & Executive Director, Dish TV India Ltd., said, “As VZY evolves into a next-generation connected entertainment platform, technology and product innovation will be central to our growth strategy. Uttam and Edwin bring deep experience from some of the most successful consumer technology companies in India and globally. Their expertise in building large-scale digital products, engineering platforms and consumer experiences will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen VZY’s position in India’s rapidly evolving entertainment landscape.”

Varun Jha, Chief Business Officer – VZY, said, “The future of entertainment will be shaped as much by technology and intelligence as by content itself. Consumers today face an unprecedented abundance of content across platforms, making discovery and personalization increasingly important challenges.

As we build VZY into an AI-led connected entertainment platform, it is critical that we bring together leaders who have solved complex consumer problems across some of the world’s most innovative digital businesses.

Uttam and Edwin have both operated across startup environments as well as large-scale consumer ecosystems. Between them, they bring deep expertise spanning fintech, commerce, content, streaming and platform businesses. More importantly, they bring a builder mindset and a strong track record of creating products and technology platforms that consumers love.

We are delighted to welcome them to the VZY leadership team and are excited about the role they will play in helping us build the next generation of entertainment experiences for India.”
