Microsoft has appointed Aparajita Puri as Managing Director for India and South Asia, marking a strategic leadership move as the company strengthens its focus on enterprise transformation across the region.
Puri joins Microsoft after a decade-long tenure at McKinsey & Company, where she worked closely with global clients across industries, advising on large-scale transformation initiatives. Her transition reflects a broader trend of senior consulting leaders moving into operating roles within technology companies, as organisations increasingly prioritise execution-driven transformation.
In her new role, Puri will lead Microsoft’s Strategic Pursuits Team for India and South Asia. She will partner with leading enterprises to drive large and complex transformation programmes, particularly in areas such as artificial intelligence, data modernisation and cloud adoption.
Puri described her journey at McKinsey as incredibly rewarding, highlighting the meaningful client engagements, mentorship and global experiences that shaped her career over the years.
She will also focus on expanding Microsoft’s engagement with enterprises undergoing large-scale digital and AI-led transformation initiatives across the region.
Her appointment comes at a time when organisations are rapidly increasing investments in digital and AI-led transformation. As enterprises continue to scale their capabilities in these areas, leadership roles like Puri’s will play a critical role in translating technology investments into tangible business outcomes.
With India emerging as one of the fastest-growing digital economies globally, Puri’s leadership is expected to further strengthen Microsoft’s position in driving enterprise innovation and transformation across the region.
