K2 Learning Resources India Pvt. Ltd. has appointed Colonel Swarnendu Roy, VSM (Retd.) as its Chief Operating Officer (COO). With more than two decades of leadership experience across the Indian Army and the United Nations, Roy brings extensive expertise in strategic leadership, organizational transformation, operational excellence, supply chain management, human resources, and technology-driven capability building.
In his new role, Roy will be responsible for leading K2 Learning’s operational strategy, driving organizational growth, strengthening execution excellence, and advancing technology adoption across the company’s education ecosystem.
Before joining K2 Learning, Roy served as Faculty Commander and Head of Faculty at the Military College of Materials Management, where he led faculty development, curriculum modernization, and leadership capability-building initiatives. During his tenure, he integrated emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, robotics, drones, virtual reality, and advanced supply chain practices into training programmes designed to prepare future military logistics leaders for increasingly complex operational environments.
Earlier, he headed one of the Indian Army’s largest logistics organizations, overseeing a workforce of more than 1,500 personnel responsible for strategic inventory management, transportation networks, procurement support, asset lifecycle management, and operational readiness. His leadership contributed to enhanced operational efficiency through predictive maintenance, digital asset tracking, and data-driven decision-making. In recognition of his distinguished service, he was awarded the Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM) by the President of India in January 2025.
Throughout his military career, Roy has held several leadership positions spanning logistics, human resource management, governance, and organizational planning. As Additional Director – Personnel & Organisation at Army Headquarters, he played an important role in strategic HR governance, leadership selection, officer promotions, and institutional transformation. He also contributed to initiatives aimed at improving governance, transparency, and talent management within the organization.
Roy also represented India on the international stage as Force Explosive Safety Officer with the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO). Working alongside multinational contingents, he managed ammunition safety, logistics readiness, and operational compliance while supporting collaborative mission objectives across participating nations.
Alongside his operational leadership experience, Roy has continued to strengthen his academic and business credentials. He is currently pursuing the PGP MAX programme at the Indian School of Business (ISB) and has completed an Executive Post Graduate Certification in Supply Chain Management from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi.
With a leadership career spanning defence, logistics, technology adoption, human capital, and organizational transformation, Roy brings a unique combination of operational discipline and strategic vision to K2 Learning Resources India. His diverse experience across large-scale operations, leadership development, and technology-enabled transformation adds to the organization’s leadership capabilities as it continues to expand its presence in India’s education and career development landscape.
