Hero MotoCorp has appointed Sachin Agrawal as Chief Technology Officer, effective May 21, 2026.
In his new role, Agrawal will lead the next phase of the company’s research and development transformation across the Hero Centre for Innovation and Technology and the Hero Tech Centre Germany. He will focus on advancing Hero MotoCorp’s ambitions in next-generation mobility, electrification, and alternative fuels.

Agrawal brings more than 29 years of experience in automotive research and development and technology leadership. His expertise spans product development, powertrain engineering, electric mobility, and advanced digital technologies.
Before joining Hero MotoCorp, he served as Executive Vice President and Head of R&D and Technology at VE Commercial Vehicles, where he led a global engineering organization and delivered several industry-first innovations.
He began his career with Daewoo Motors, contributing to the design of the Matiz chassis system in South Korea.
Over the course of his career, Agrawal has led end-to-end development across diesel, CNG, electric, and hydrogen platforms. He has also worked extensively in connected mobility, AI and machine learning integration, and software-defined vehicle ecosystems, while helping build a strong culture of innovation and intellectual property creation.
He has served as Chairperson of the SIAM Frontier Technology & Innovation Group and led the Volvo Group’s Global Center of Excellence for Medium Duty Engine Development.
An alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, where he earned an M.Tech in Mechanical Design and received a Gold Medal, Agrawal is also a Leadership Fellow from Carnegie Mellon University.
With this appointment, Hero MotoCorp further strengthens its leadership team as it accelerates its R&D transformation and expands its focus on future-ready mobility technologies. Agrawal is expected to play a key role in advancing the company’s innovation, sustainability, and technology agenda.
