Sonatype, a global leader in end-to-end software supply chain security, has announced the appointment of Bhagwat Swaroop as its new Chief Executive Officer. The move marks a planned leadership transition, with outgoing CEO Wayne Jackson stepping into the role of Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors. Jackson will continue to play a key role in guiding the company’s strategic direction.
Swaroop brings nearly 30 years of experience in driving growth and leading transformation across high-tech and cybersecurity firms. Prior to joining Sonatype, he served as President of the Digital Security Solutions business at Entrust and held leadership positions at One Identity, Symantec, Proofpoint, NetApp, and McKinsey. He began his career as a developer at Intel and has since built a strong reputation for scaling businesses to over a billion dollars in revenue through strategic vision and operational excellence.

Wayne Jackson, who led Sonatype for over 15 years, played a pivotal role in scaling the company from a niche innovator to a category leader in software supply chain management and open source security. Under his leadership, Sonatype grew its global footprint to nearly 2,000 organizations across 75 countries, including 70% of the Fortune 100 and major financial institutions in North America and Europe.
