JPMorgan Chase has appointed Deep Thomas as its Chief Data and Analytics Officer for the Asia-Pacific region. In his new role, Thomas will lead the bank’s enterprise-wide data and AI strategy across the region, focusing on governance, regulatory compliance, risk management, and data-driven business transformation to strengthen JPMorgan’s competitive advantage.
With over 25 years of global experience in data, AI, and digital transformation, Thomas has built and scaled high-impact analytics organizations across financial services and multinational conglomerates.
Before joining JPMorgan, he served as Group Chief Data and Analytics Officer at Nomura, where he drove the firm’s enterprise data and AI agenda, embedding governance frameworks and expanding AI capabilities to support risk management and business growth.
Earlier in his career, Thomas spearheaded digital and AI-led transformations for two of India’s largest business groups—Aditya Birla Group and Tata Group—where he delivered over $250 million in business impact across 30+ businesses, launched proprietary AI platforms, and nurtured innovation through global digital ecosystems. He has also held senior leadership roles at Citigroup, HSBC, and American Express, where he built large-scale analytics teams and delivered measurable revenue growth through AI-driven strategies.
Thomas holds an MS in Computer Information Systems, an MBA in International Marketing from Arizona State University, and a BE in Computer Science. He also holds more than 20 patents in data strategy, AI capabilities, and analytics innovation.
