IMP Powers Appoints Kamal Singh Thakur as Senior Vice President – Operations

IMP Powers Limited has announced the appointment of Kamal Singh Thakur as Senior Vice President – Operations. In his new role, Thakur will focus on strengthening operational excellence, driving manufacturing efficiency, and supporting the company’s growth initiatives.

With over 25 years of experience in the power transformer industry, Thakur brings extensive expertise in plant operations, manufacturing excellence, strategic planning, process improvement, and team leadership. His experience spans across transformer manufacturing, supply chain, projects, quality, maintenance, and operational transformation.

Prior to joining IMP Powers, Thakur served as Plant Head at Transformers & Rectifiers (India) Ltd., where he led initiatives focused on improving productivity, optimizing resources, and driving plant transformation. His profile highlights experience in scaling manufacturing operations, reducing cycle time, improving asset utilization, and implementing cost optimization initiatives.

During his career, Thakur has held leadership roles with organizations including CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited, Atlanta Electricals, Technical Associates Ltd., and others, contributing to manufacturing operations, production excellence, and large-scale transformer projects.

At IMP Powers, he will leverage his industry expertise to enhance operational capabilities, improve processes, and support sustainable business growth.

Kamal Singh Thakur is an operations and manufacturing leader with more than two decades of experience in the power transformer sector. He has worked across transformer manufacturing, production management, plant operations, and process improvement, with experience in handling high-voltage transformer manufacturing up to 765kV ratings.
